Experience the Vineyard

History of Solis Vineyard
The Solis Winery vineyard is located on the historical Rancho de Solis, an 1830’s Mexican land grant that originally spread over 8,800 acres. Today, the winery is located in one of the oldest wine-growing regions in California’s Central Coast.
In the late 1920’s, the Vanni’s broke new ground by planting Chardonnay and Merlot, and later adding Muscat Canelli, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese. These proved fortuitous; Solis Winery’s Sangiovese has won California State Fair’s “Best of Class Region” for three consecutive years. The Johannisburg Riesling, Cabernet Savignon, and Reserve Merlot are all Gold Medal winners.
Taste Solis Wines for yourself at our tasting room where the spirit of Old California lives on. If you would like to tour the vineyard, please call ahead for an appointment. The Vanni’s would welcome the chance to personally show you around.
Experience the History
During the gold rush, California’s Gilroy valley was recognized to be climactically perfect for growing French and Italian wine grapes. Today, the tradition continues with both the historical vines planted by these early settlers and newer varieties that keep the wines tasting fresh and exciting. On the winery tour, you will get to taste these incredible wines as well as learn more about California’s wine-making history.
