SOLIS WINERY SCORES SILVER IN
DALLAS WINE COMPETITION

GILROY, CA, April 21, 2008 – Gilroy's award-winning Solis Winery has garnered yet another accolade to add to its collection. Its prized Anita Maria dessert wine was honored with a silver medal at the 24th Annual Dallas Morning News Wine Competition in Texas.

"Its an honor to have our local wine recognized at such a prestigious event outside of California," said winery owner Vic Vanni. "I'm especially proud to carry on the family tradition with this vintage, named after my own grandmother."

Solis' Anita Maria stood out among the over 3500 wine entries received for the April 2008 competition. This is the first vintage of wines produced by owners Vic and Michael Vanni since assuming ownership of the family business on January 1, 2007. The fortified wine, made from the Solis Estate Muscat, was conceived and dedicated as a tribute to the life of Anita Maria Vanni, an Italian immigrant who achieved the American dream while passing on her Italian heritage.

The wine is available for purchase online at www.soliswinery.com and retails for $18 per bottle. Guests are encouraged to sample their award-winning wines by personally visiting the winery's tasting room, located at 3920 Hecker Pass in Gilroy, or the website for more information.
